Daddy's Boys

The older the boys get, the more time they want to spend with their dad. (Sniffle.)

Mickey Mouse Clubhouse Birthday Party

We had a small but very-themed Mickey Mouse Clubhouse birthday party for Carson' last weekend. With family and a few friends invited, it was perfect! We enjoyed cake, ice cream and pizza. What fun!

Carson is 3!

Carson turned 3 on September 29th. When I asked him what he wanted for his birthday, he would say, "A Mickey cake, a Mickey balloon, cars and trucks and trains." How could I disappoint?!

Nate and I both took the 29th off of work and spent a very special day with a our little man. We started the day off with chocolate milk and coffee from Starbucks. We then hit the Museum of Transportation. Carson loved climbing in the trains and especially liked the mini-train ride around the museum grounds.

We then surprised him with an Amtrak ride from Kirkwood to Washington, Missouri. He was so excited!! He picked our seats, bounced between Nate and me, asked the conductor, "Ticket, please." (He kind of had that one backwards!), and found the dining car. Once we got to Washington, Gma and Grandma met us for lunch.

We topped off the night with cupcakes and, what else - a train table for Carson.

Ross-in-the-Box

Did Carson stuff Brady in here or what?! (Once they each found out this was "cool," they fought over who got to sit in it!)

Fall Fun

Blog Drought

This happens every Fall. I don't blog. Not because I don't want to, but because I am swamped at work and function in a "triage" mood both personally and professionally. Blogging needs as much attention as does a hang-nail.

Dr. Trish to the rescue; here we go...

9.10.05

Six years ago I married a wonderful man who is an amazing father to our two boys. What more could a girl ask for?! Happy Anniversary, Nate. I love you!

Pals

These two are quite the pair! Carson is absolutely in love with Brady. Now that could be because he thinks he's "the boss of Brady" and takes it upon himself to wrestle down, push and nearly squeeze the life out of Brady when ever he feels the urge, but I'm certain it's driven by love. They are really becoming friends.

Carillon Beach - 2011

We spent an absolutely wonderful week at Carillon Beach in Florida a few weeks ago. My parents joined us! The trip down was...well, let's be honest, freakin' terrible! Carson puked four times before we hit Birmingham. One of the explosions was directly on me. (An exit outside of Tupelo, MS is the proud owner of puked-on 3T shorts and a women's tank top and skirt.) Once there though, we enjoyed lots of mornings at the pool, afternoon naps and evenings on the beach. (We are fortunate to know someone who has a three bedroom condo directly on the beach!)

The ride home was much smoother. We broke up the trip with a night at the Corless house. (I honestly think Carson enjoyed the overnight in Memphis more than the beach. He experienced his first sleep-over with Gunnar and loved all of the Corless kid-loot!)

Carillon Beach, we'll see you again next August!

NBA

He's comin' for you, Kobe!

Brady's Books

Brady is ca-razzzy about books. He loves to:

hold them
pretend to read them
choose them over other toys
call magazines and newspapers "Bu"
point to them and grin
bring them to you and plop down on your lap

I'm not sure how this started, because I read to Carson numerous times a day like any good "first time" mommy does. With Brady, I, umm - had great intentions but fell down on the job frequently. It's so nice to know that I didn't "ruin him" with my lack of one-on-one-Mommy-and-me reading!
