Brady's 3rd Birthday

Brady is 3! We had a fantastic family day filled with breakfast cup cakes, drawing fun and a first-ever trip to Six Flags. (Both boys nearly lost their mind when we told them we were taking them to Six Flags. They've always asked us, "When are we big enough to go there?!" TODAY, my friends.) We had a few melt downs around lunch time but they boys rallied for a few more hours of rides and cotton candy before we headed home. We topped off the night with dinner at, wait for it - McDonald's. Brady's choice, of course.

Happy Birthday, Brady - you are a fiery, caring, good-hearted, smart, fun-loving, strong willed, adorable little man. My heart is full when I am with you. Thank you for making me smile, laugh, gasp and cringe throughout each day.

Sans Daddy

We spent the majority of the week sans our Missouri and Illinois licensed attorney Daddy while he was in court in California. Say what? I know, right?! We did a lot of face time and sent tons of pics back and forth. We're glad Daddy is back with us!

Water Play

I guess the sprinkler water was a bit too cold for this one.

Instagram

Damn it. I'm hooked.

(Last) Weekend Recap

Is it possible to have a weekend that has zero planned activities? NO. (I'm not sure how I feel about this...all signs are pointing to our boys growing up, which leads to a plethora of mixed emotions.)
We were supposed to play soccer and tball, but the rain changed our plans. After Friday nights evening with the Carters (insert French martini) and Saturday night with Kels and Ryan, Sunday was our recoup day. Man, I need a post weekend nap these days!

Holy superheroes, Batman!

Brady has official joined Carson's formerly exclusive "I AM A SUPERHERO" club. It's super cute to see them save the world. ;)

It's Just Lunch

We hit the local pizza joint yesterday for lunch. Carson wasn't feeling well, so we skipped our usual mid-morning swim lesson. By the time 11:30a rolled around, we needed a break from the house. P.I.Z.Z.A. is always a no brainer choice for the boys. Brady might have had on his pjs, Carson in day old shorts and me in a sleep tank and sweats, but who cares. We were paying customers!

Memorial Day

We had a fairly relaxing day on Monday. We spent the morning hanging out with our neighbors while the kids jumped on their trampoline. After naps we headed to Gma's for BBQ. Dinner is a treat when someone else cooks. Thanks for the hospitality, Gma!

Home Run

Carson had his first tball game! He seriously is quite the slugger. And while it did take him a bit to get in to "fielding the ball," he was chasing down grounders by the second inning. We actually had to yell, "You're on the same team!" when he pushed Mary over a few times grabbing for the ball in the infield.

Gotta love training ball!

Mulch

D's Firewood & Mulch brought ours.....nicest and cheapest guys in the business!

Lakin' It

We spent Saturday night at the lake with Greg, Carrie, Brad, Ashley, BJ and Jill. After 8 hours of drinking, grilling, boating, lounging and poker, we called it a night. We soaked up a few rays on Sunday before heading home to rescue Gma.

So. Much. Fun.

TBall Practice

Carson's first game is tomorrow! He and Daddy have been heading to practice once a week for over a month. Brady and I usually stay at home but decided to go along for the ride this time. We played on the play ground until Brady's cheeks were on fire while our All Star ran the bases!

Goal!!!

Carson scored a goal at Saturday's game! The Dragons are undefeated with one game left to play.

Fish

Carson and Brady have been taking swim lessons for about 3 months now, and while I can't yet say that they are independent swimmers, I can share that they are super comfortable in the water. Carson is a bit more apprehensive than Brady when it comes to going under, but he's trying. We have made it routine to eat out after every lesson. I text this particular post swim lesson lunch picture to my mom, to which she responded, "You have a fun life!"

I sure do! (And sorry, little men, for making you smile in to the sun!)

Bounce U Birthday Party

It's the time of year for birthday party overload! Nearly all of Carson's class is heading to kindergarten in the fall, and thus most have turned 5 this spring. Our latest weekend party adventure was at Bounce U. (Imagine our Santa bounce house on crack.) The kid was a tired, sweaty mess by the time the cake was served!
