Horse Happy

Good weather in mid November is not something to let go by the way side. We spent the day at Gma's house playing outside. The boys horsed around (pun intended) for a good two hours before we called it a day.

I'm 36 years old. What, what?!

I celebrated my special day with my boys. Enough said.

Halloween 2013

This year we had an Army Ranger and his pup, Grenade. Both thoroughly enjoyed treating in Uncle Boog and Aunt Ashley's neighborhood after a round of school costume parties. We still have Halloween candy in the candy bin now that I think of it...kind of gross!

Hoop

Carson is a hooper! He did six weeks with a rookie YMCA team. Despite the fact that he's a soccer powerhouse, he actually prefers basketball. He made at least one basket each game and will begin his second stint with a Y team this January. Whoot!

Carson is 5!

I have a five year old. I.HAVE.A.FIVE.YEAR.OLD. Carson had a BounceU party for his friends and a family party at home this year. I'm very proud to be his mother. I regularly get comments from school, church, his friends' parents, etc. saying how good of a boy Carson is. Yes, he is.

A Little Fishy

What's the saying....."Guests, like fish, begin to smell after three days." My parents don't seem to agree but I think they are just being nice. My boys have been at the farm since Friday, and today is Wednesday! (And I don't think they are coming home until TOMORROW!) Here's a glimpse at the fun they've had:

Nature Walk

We spend a good amount of time outside when the Fall weather hits us. Last weekend was the first tease of Fall weather thus far, so after Carson's Saturday morning soccer game (and a trip to Donut Palace!), we went for a family walk. One of my favorite things to do to pass the time...

Farm Trek

We headed home for the weekend for a Flesner family wedding. It was the boys first wedding, and surprisingly, they were well behaved during the ceremony. Brady was enamored by "the princess" and yelled out "Rapunzel" as the bride walked down the aisle. Not that the wedding wasn't special, but the highlight of the weekend was the gorgeous weather and having Brooke home with us. (Aunt Jan also came over on Saturday for a visit!) We spent plenty of time outside riding on tractors, combines, 4-wheelers, motorcycles, etc. Nate and I actually left the boys with my parents for a few days and are back home. It's the boys first "sans Mom & Dad" experience at the farm. We didn't receive a midnight call and have yet to talk to the boys this AM, which mean so far, so good!

St. John Cougar Soccer

Carson started Fall soccer with our church (and his future school!). He is for sure the fastest guy out there! His two friends, Brayden and Nathaniel, are on his team. I'm not sure who has more fun, Carson or his parents, on game days.

Six Flags

Spur of the moment, we decided to head to Six Flags after dinner. The boys nearly lost it they were so excited! Carson rode the Mine Train - his first roller coaster! Brady was big enough to ride but ditched it last minute. (Who else has a three year old big enough to ride a freakin' roller coaster?!) And who knew amusement parks are half as smelly, half as busy and twice as enjoyable after 7 PM? : )

Some of my favs.....

Not a regret for having them so close together in age!

Off-Roading

Ladies and Gentlemen - we have our first "2013 Santa ask!"

Ninja Turtle Mania

They are obsessed!

Carson's Future Plans

Carson recently told us that he's going to have two kids, a boy and a girl. He will live in our current home with his wife and two kids and ask our neighbors if we (Nate, Brady and me) can buy their house so that we can move in when Carson is "old enough to live alone." This all makes perfect sense to a 4 year old who wants to live by his brother "forever," be close to his parents and work for The Ross Law Firm, LLC, which partially operates out of our in-home office.

I love my sweet, considerate, sensitive, bright and thoughtful little man with big plans for his future, don't you?!

Florida 2013

We had a fantastic vacation in mid August. True to form, we left our house at 8p (had a very uneventful drive since the boys slept) and arrived in Florida by 9a on a Saturday. We enjoyed 7 days of wonderful weather, good food and great company. We logged many hours at the pool, though different from last year, the boys actually loved the beach. They aren't necessarily ocean swimmers, but they do love to hunt for shells and wade in the waves. My plan to "disconnect" from my iPhone backfired a bit - I have zero beach photos to show! There's always next year, right?!
