Calling all moms!

HELP - how in the hell did you get your precious baby to sleep in his/her crib? Mine won't; I'm getting pissed and feeling very defeated. A penny for your thoughts......

Hey, Trish, it's Amy Herman. Not sure if it will help, but we've used a crib wedge (http://www.amazon.com/DEX-Products-Safe-Deluxe-SL-01/dp/B000056J6Q) to incline our girls' heads while they sleep in the crib. Puts them a bit more at an angle that is similar to a bouncy seat. So at least it might help with the transition. I also swaddle Macie from her waist down, and put her hips between one of these things (http://www.amazon.com/First-Years-Air-Flow-Back-Sleeper/dp/B000058CC4/ref=pd_bxgy_ba_img_b). I feel like it helps her feel a bit more snug and secure - also leading to a better night's sleep! You should be able to find both of these things at Target or Babies-R-Us. Good luck!

I didn't even try until she was 6 months old. Eighteen years ago we let our babies sleep in a basinet right next to our bed. This is what my friends had done and it worked well. I didn't have far to go to nurse.
This is Jan, obviously not Kelsey

Howdy...I don't have any advice, other than this and its coming from the mom of a one year old: Get it done now, don't wait! We waited and now we have a one year old who not only refused to sleep in his cribs (not even for naps), but has also started to refuse being rocked in his room for fear of falling asleep and being put in the crib. He is too big to swaddle or prop (both of which are GREAT ideas for where your guy is now!). Anytime we put him in the crib, he stands up and screams this angry cry at us...so no matter how awful it seems now, if you wait it will only get worse (at least it did for us). He has also learned how to crawl down off the bed...so yeah...do it now...no matter how hard it seems! Best of luck to you!!! Oh..and the first time you hear the magical "momma" come from him...all this insanity will no longer seem so insane!

Trish,
Maybe Grammie Jude needs to come over and have a little talk with Carson and explain how important this is for his mommy's and daddy's happiness.
